On what I walk to see...

Rally of Fury (火大) in Taipei Jan. 13th, 2013

The Rally of Fury (火大) took place in Taipei on January 13th, 2013.

Those who came from all over the Taiwan... including farmers, labor workers, and people in all other walks. While those from the main island of Taiwan came with a bus, there were still others, such as those from the island of Kinmen, might have needed to come to Taiwan by Air or water first.

Protesters in the rally demanded a better living through reforms in economy, politics, democracy and the government.  They also protested against specific issues affecting common people's daily living--the increase of both the oil and water prices, the decreasing salaries, the unraveling of labor pension plan, and continuing construction of the fourth nuclear plant.

I even partake in the rally without a cane and during the time of dosage adjustment (ya, got overdosed on Seroquel again and dosage adjustment inevitably makes me more paranoid delusional), and tried my best to stay way from the crowd.  How does one be in the rally while be not in the crowd?  Well, I appended myself to the end of the parade and made sure there were not too many people behind me who might want to walk before me... since I am slow.

Today I got my own behind up to the Modern Toilet

Took this friend of mine, my former out-of-the-department adviser, OUT for a dinner today at the Modern Toilet in Ximen Ding (西門町).  Our table was a bathtub and we actually were sitting on the toilet bowls.  As for the food, her hotpot and my beef curry were both served in the toilet bowls and desserts in squat pot.  Both of us got an urinal cup as a souvenir.  Taking worshiping the porcelain God to a different level... lol

Both of us had great fun and I, especially, was jumping up and down taking pictures as if I have never seen a toilet! lol

My mon say the "cup" I brought home and could not stop laughing at it as well as the notion of eating out of a toilet bowl.  Think I might take my folks there some time as long as I have not gotten 86 because I was too routy... lol

國家音樂廳 National Concert Hall, Taipei

The last time I went to the MET opera to do my standing room thing behind the orchestra seats was before my accident in 2007.    After the accident, walking first... and above all... though I did attend some live performances here and there once in a while...

Just so happened, this friend of my from New York was performing in the National Concert Hall the past two days and realized that I am actually in Taipei.  Such realization got my mom and I two orchestra seats to attend the "National Symphony Orchestra 2013 New Year Concert- Forever Love"- a program starting with the overture of "La forza" and one of my shifus for classical music, Marc Heller, as the soloist on stage.

How I had fun!  I even got to go to the backstage for the first time in my life and took pictures with the soloists! (Another manifestation of the "How did I get there" phenomena... I guess... 8-O lol)
